VENOMOUS BY PENELOPE FLETCHER

Abducted from Earth and transported to a slave planet in an unknown galaxy, Lumen finds herself, shackled, naked and put on display before an alien horde. Told the males will battle for the right to slake their lusts with her body, she would become the slave of slaves.

Venomous One, a proud warrior enslaved, has given up hope of returning to his home world and finding a life mate. When a female is tossed into the arena his soul demands he claim her. Winning his mate by Right of Might, he vows to protect Lumen and be a good provider, no matter how ugly her human appearance.

Soon Lumen and Venomous One were rescued by Venomous’ people; the couple faces space pirates, the condemnation of an alien government, galactic war, and a deadlier threat from within the warrior’s own kindred.

I like Lumen as a character; I found her funny, snarky, sarcastic, and mentally strong considering what she has been through. She is realistic and not to overly whiny as many female leads of this type of story can be. At least no whinier then a normal person would be when faced with the non-choices she was. I especially liked how she blossomed as a person under the love of her mates.

I wasn’t sure what to think of Venomous as a character at first, but the more I got to know him the more I liked him. My favorite characters of this book are tied between Venomous, Cobra, and Beowyn all for different reasons. You would most likely understand why once you give this book a spin, I would defiantly recommend.

Infatuation – You would read this story every chance you could.

The Invaders by Jay Ford from the Visitors Saga Book Review

The Invaders by Jay Ford from the Visitors Saga Book Review

It is currently for free on Amazon. Be sure to go and get it before it’s no longer free!

The Invaders are not the usual type of Alien stories I read. There is not much romance the Aliens are the bad guys. Despite this type of book not being my usual cup of tea, I still find myself enjoying it.  Granted it had taken a couple chapters before Mr. Ford’s world had captured me, but now I can honestly say that I am happy I decided to give this story a chance.

I guess I like Armageddon style books too! You learn something new every day.

Its Free so why not give it a try!   The Invaders by Jay Ford

I rate this book as: Attraction – A promising Story, but nothing life changing. You would read the sequel as more of a backup story when you run out.

I end this entry post with I would recommend this book to others.

Please leave a comment with your opinion if you have read this book as well, I would love to know how much you either loved or hated it!

Dark Fever by Karen Marie Moning Book Review

Dark Fever was one of the best books I have ever read! I was pulled into the story from the first chapter. Ms. Moning is an exceptional authoress in my opinion and I have personally read every single book she has written. Dark Fever is the first book in an ongoing series.

MacKayla, Mac for short starts of as your everyday young southern woman. She’s a bit ditzy and naive but has the potential to be so much more. This series is an action-packed thrill ride that just won’t quit (thanks Ms. Moning).

Jericho Barrons is the Ultimate Alpha male. He likes things done his way and will do whatever he needs to ensure that it stays that way.

The world that Ms. Moning created for her reader’s enjoyment is one that more than meets expectation, in my opinion. By the end of the book, I felt like I really knew Mac and what made her tick, I laughed with her, cried with her, and when it called for it I raged with her. Only, I had not felt the need to hide how Jericho was totally *pant* worthy!

If you are one of the few that have yet to read this series I completely recommend that you do. You won’t be sorry!

I rate this book as: Obsession - Once you start you can’t stop. I recommend setting an alarm to let you know when to put it down

Touch the Dark by Karen Chance Book Review

Touch the Dark is the first installment of the Cassandra Palmer Series. This author has managed to maintain the Top 5 of my favorite author's list since 2006. I don’t know about you, but I love a good supernatural story with a bit of action adventure with a side of romance. This series has all of that and more.

Cassie, as she is known to her friends is a clairvoyant and she can also communicate with spirits. She was raised in a vampire’s household until she ran away. It is non-stop fun, action, and a bit of angst. Warning: Cassie is known to be a bit sarcastic, hopeless, and a wee bit ditzy.

This book can boast vampire politics, time travel, the Fae, shapeshifters, mages, and ghosts. This series is a one spot stop for all your supernatural creatures needs.

I bow down to the creative mind of Karen Chance and wait impatiently for her next Cassie Palmer release. Reap the Wind is due for release on November 4th 2014.

I rate this book as: Obsession - Once you start you can’t stop. I recommend setting an alarm to let you know when to put it down

I end this entry post with, I would defiantly recommend this book to others, no if and or buts about it.

Afterlife by Stephanie Hudson Book Review

Afterlife Series has quickly become one of my favorite all-time series and worth every second I spent submerged within the world Stephanie Hudson has so thoroughly created for her readers’ enjoyment. Afterlife is the first book of an ongoing series with a total of (as of today) 5 books and one on the way.

Afterlife centers on Kiera a 23 years old woman who has moved to New England and moved in with her elder sister to escape the trauma and depression of her past. Her life is full of horrors, which includes nightmares and visions of monsters and this makes her withdrawn and self-conscious. Despite all the supernatural things going on in her life when she met the dangerously handsome Alpha male Dominic Draven, Kiera tried to maintain a semi normal life. She had a job, went to school, spent time with friends and family, and I like this about her.

Afterlife brings a whirlwind of suspense, mystery, and action. It is a slow building romance between Draven and Kiera that leaves the reader craving for more.

I am not embarrassed to say that I have joined the “Crave the Drave” fandom.

I rate this book as: Obsession – Once you start you can’t stop. I recommend setting an alarm to let you know when to put it down.
